About Last Night: Shred For Your Life Musicians Battled It Out At Brooklyn Bazaar
Marc Razo’s Shred For Your Life guitar battle hit the stage for the 14th year last night to a jam-packed crowd at Brooklyn Bazaar. Twelve professional shredder’s went head to head over the course of three rounds, some dressed in drag, one as a nun, and one as a rocker who wore ass-less chaps. Randy the Macho Man Savage was present while others rocked their normal shred gear.
John Stanier of Helmet and Battles handled the drums and Brad Truax of Interpol rocked the bass. Shredders could use the band or perform solo for their 60 seconds on stage.
In the end it came down to Nicole Lawrence and Lilly Maase.
The crowd and judges were stumped as both ladies rocked out so hard.
Lilly Maase took the crown in 2010 and now, is once again the champion in 2018. Afterwards, everyone closed the night at Union Pool.
Look out for a Shred For Your Life battle in other cities across the globe and, potentially, a documentary from all of the previous shredding coming out in 2019.
Stay tuned to Milk for more serious shredding.
