Ashley Smith's NYFW Diary For Milk Part 4
So we gave Ashley Smith, model and gal-about-town, a Polaroid camera and a shit ton of film to keep us on both side of the shows this NYFW. While she’s usually ruling the runway herself, this time around, Smith is running all over the city to give us a peak at the inner workings of NYC’s biggest week of the season. From the wildest parties to the poshest private dinners, the gap-toothed beauty is showing off how to do Fashion Week right. Stay tuned for more of Ashley’s inside scoop.
Monday was a whirlwind; there were so many shows! I started my day at the Houghton show at MADE Fashion Week, where I wore a gorgeous outfit sent over by the designer. I then zoomed over to Jeremy Scott, where I went to take pictures backstage and ended up getting a free a manicure instead. Thanks OPI! That evening, I went to the Libertine show, where my boyfriend, Charlie, was modeling – it was great to get to hang out and be silly backstage. Later that night, we hosted a party to launch The Roxy Hotel, formerly the TriBeCa Grand. It was an awesome time, especially when we got to have friends in the room after!
On Tuesday, I went to my friend Zana Bayne’s Bossa Nova-themed presentation at The Jane Hotel. The leather work was incredible – she even made hats. I also attended a screening of the new documentary Jeremy Scott: The People’s Designer, at the adorable Paris Theater uptown. We ended up staying out super late, ending up at Berlin in the East Village until after 4 in the morning. Fashion Week never fails to be completely crazy.
