Dipping it Low With Christina Milian at The Blonds [NYFW]
A wise woman once said, “Dip it low, pick it up slow / Roll it all around, poke it out like your back broke / Pop pop pop that thing / I’ma show you how to make your man say ‘Ooh.’” Salacious, commanding, and a tad threatening—we also don’t think we would look great with a broken back?—but wise words nonetheless, and sung in beautiful harmony by the one and only Christina Milian. Tonight at The Blonds we had the pleasure of not only seeing her, but actually chatting with her for a bit too. Unsurprisingly, the entertainer was looking like a star—kiiiiinda like all the chicks and the fellas in the bars. (Ok ,we’re done).
After the show, we were lucky enough to steal her for a hot minute.
How’s your Fashion Week so far?
Fantastic, it’s been a great week and I’m just kind of beginning but obviously this is one of the highlights, being at The Blonds. It’s a good show, it’s always fun and amazing, it’s like opening up a treasure chest.
Are you rocking The Blonds right now?
I am. I’m wearing The Blonds right now and some Louboutins.
So you came in from LA for Fashion Week?
Yes I did.
How do you feel about the whole L.A. vs. New York debate?
I mean there’s kind of no debate; I love L.A. and I live in LA, but when it comes to New York, they know fashion, you know? It’s such a fast-paced city, so it’s a little different when it comes to fashion, but I love NYFW.
I was at a party last night and they were blasting “Am to Pm” three times in a row. It’s my favorite song.
They were? Three times in a row? Damn, that must have been a wild party. [Laughs]
It was really fun! So what else are you going to this week?
I’m going to Jeremy Scott [and] his party. There’s a couple of ’em—every day I have like three or four a day and I can’t keep up with which ones they are.
How do you survive Fashion Week?
I don’t know! Try to sleep in if you don’t have a fashion show early in the morning. When you come in at five, six o’clock in the morning, after a long, fun night—drink ginger shots.
