Good Vibes Only at Full Moon Fest 2K17
This year, New York City’s self-proclaimed “boutique” music festival, hosted by MATTE Projects, was held on the grassy waterfront greens of Governor’s Island. The perfect weather, good vibes, and dope lineup made for an on point festival, and will definitely be a seaside weekend to remember.
Most importantly, the performances were all dope, featuring diverse and carefully selected artists ranging from dreamy techno to rap. Headliners included our favorite R&B/electro girl Kelela, along with the multifaceted rapper Vic Mensa and Swedish house genius Axel Boman. Other performers included psychedelic pop group Connan Mockasin, alt R&B artist Abra, and Brooklyn-based label Awesome Tapes From Africa.
Aside from the music, the space itself, albeit hot and at times seriously lacking in shade, was gorgeous and definitely not lacking in delish food and ~refreshments~. French music and fashion label Maison Kitsuné was Full Moon’s prime partner in crime, featuring its very own stage and vibe, “La Plage.”
As with most artsy New York events, Full Moon Fest was a display of some of the city’s best street style and festival wear. See for yourself—check the photos in the slideshow above, courtesy of Milk fam Andrew Boyle.
