How Tinder Won This Couple a Trip to Hawaii
Ahh, Tinder. The best tool for finding love. Let’s face it, as much as we like to joke about the app, we’ve all had our fair share of tentative conversations that may or may not have turned into awkward bar dates. In some, rare cases, happy couples will get to tell their grandchildren that they met on a dating app most often used for one night stands. Other, even luckier, couples will get to tell them that the app sponsored their first date… in Hawaii.
You heard it. Two young strangers scored a free trip to Maui for their first date, courtesy of Tinder. Why? Because they’re both bad texters. Josh Avsec and Michelle Arendas’ weird, interspersed conversation lasted for three years, after matching on November 20, 2014. Since then, the two have exchanged a series of sporadic replies, each time creating new excuses for their delayed response, ranging from “Sorry, I was in the shower” to “I’ve had a busy week”. Their prolonged joke brought them under the Twitter spotlight, when Josh shared screenshots of their conversation:
Hahahaha one day I'm going to meet this girl and it's going to be epic. Look at the dates of our tinder texts. pic.twitter.com/DASQK4c5cX

Needless to say, the good people of the interweb lost their shit, calling for the pair to meet, date, marry, have babies, etc, etc. Finally, Michelle took notice.
sorry I'd reply but I need to give it a few months !

After thinking long and hard, the lucky couple chose Maui, Hawaii, as their destination of choice for their hyped up first date. And if the two weren’t getting enough of the special treatment, even Maui’s official Twitter account has joined in on the fun.
