John Waters, Non-Problematic Fave, Endorses Black Lives Matter Activist
Oh, John Waters. You are perhaps the only non-problematic fave we have. The connoisseur of gross and proud Baltimore native just came out in support of Black Lives Matter activist DeRay Mckesson’s mayoral campaign. The possible Mayor of Baltimore has already earned the backing of Beyoncé and the actual Piper Kerman.
It helps that DeRay Mckesson is basically the coolest. For starters, he is one of the most well-known faces within the Black Lives Matter movement. An avid protester who first made waves during Ferguson, he is also known for his Mapping Police Violence initiative. This collects information on those who have lost their lives to police brutality, in hopes of making some sort of sense of the needless violence.
But while other celebs showed their support through such typical means as Twitter and monetary donations, John Waters showed his support the only way he can. That is, in a video that is both more classy and more sarcastic that you will ever be.

He points out that many candidates would want his endorsement, and he’s right. After all, what could possibly be better than an endorsement from the eternal King of Gross?
