This rare photo of Kanye showing joy sums up our Monday morning now that his new track dropped.

Kanye + Kendrick's New Track Just Eased Your G.O.O.D. Friday Worries

You can put away the ice cream and Kleenex now, because the overwhelming sadness you felt on Friday is about to be erased with six minutes of pure fire. Kanye West dropped “No More Parties in L.A.,” the next G.O.O.D. Friday song, this morning. He made up for breaking our hearts with twenty-four hours of refreshing our Kanye West Google news tab, turned up absolutely nothing in the way of new material. It turns out he was going gorillas in Italy, finishing up the track in between Yeezy Season 3 fittings.

The collaboration with Kendrick Lamar that he teased at the end of the first G.O.O.D. Friday release, “Real Friends,” is even better than we could’ve imagined—and we had hopes so high they could touch the sky. Speaking of the sky, Kanye wrote 90 new bars on the plane ride to Italy, because of course he did. The most I’ve ever done on a plane is watch half a movie and fall asleep with salted peanut dust all over me.

Kendrick’s verse comes and goes with the usual intensity we’ve come to expect, but—surprisingly—it isn’t the highlight. As the track winds on, Kanye reintroduces himself to the world as the rap genius he established himself as over his twelve-year career, and makes us forget that “Facts” happened a few weeks ago. Throughout the track, he explores fatherhood, fame, his endearingly difficult personality, and the lack of inspiration he’d been feeling since Lauryn Hill retired. After three playthroughs, it’s safe to say that Kanye is killing us softly with his song–in the best way possible.

It’s unclear whether this track or “Real Friends” will show up on SWISH, but we’ll all find out in a few weeks. The seventh studio album from the most infamous man in rap will be out on February 11th, just in time for your Valentine’s Day date.

Stay tuned to Milk for more rare photos of Kanye looking happy.
