Gentleman prefer BLONDS.

Runway Rundown: The Blonds Get Scrambled

From Egypt to the silver screen, The Blonds brought their infamous runway party back for another MADE Fashion Week. Richard Gere may have commanded everyone to “razzle-dazzle ‘em” in Chicago, but The Blonds actually did it. The Fall/Winter ’16 show was as sparkly and glorious over the top as ever, delivering a full runway experience. We, along with the rest of the crowd, ate that shit up. We’ll be wearing corsets in our dreams.

We Spied…

The usual showstopping queens and nightlife royalty. Perez Hilton, Mr. Jay Manuel, Amanda Lepore, Sunanne Bartsche, Gigi Gorgeous, and Miss J. Alexander all showed up to see what crazy shit the designers came up with next—and didn’t leave disappointed.

The Look That Gave Us Life…

The iridescent puffer jacket. It gave off “Michelin Man gets a sex change, moves to New York, and falls in with Michael Alig’s crowd” vibes and we were ready to get swallowed up in it.

The Song Pick That Made Us Want to Commandeer the Catwalk…

Grimes’ jam “Vanessa,” obvi. As the sequined puffer coat marched down the runway, we couldn’t help but think that the Canadian cutie’s line “Oh I’ve been waiting desperately” was written precisely for that piece.

It’s in the Details…

Shine bright like a diamond! Sequins, crystals, and rhinestones covered every single surface of the collection, from bustiers and oversized bows to fishnet veils and fluffy bomber jackets. If it’s not bedazzled, you’re not doing it right.

The Takeaway…

The wardrobe for Elton’s John next world tour dipped in Jem and the Holograms and coated in sequins. The entire collection felt like Barbie’s Vegas residency after a detour at Burning Man.
