Marc Jacobs, Miley Cyrus + Marilyn Minter Create Magic Feminist T-Shirts

Do you #StandWithPP? Are you a fan of avant-garde female artists, in both music and the, uh, arts? Can you only afford Marc Jacobs when it’s in t-shirt form? Then we have just the collab for you!

Marilyn Minter, the prolific and highly respected artist and photographer, collaborated with Miley Cyrus on a t-shirt, now available via Marc Jacobs for 50 bucks. But here’s the kicker—the proceeds will go to Planned Parenthood. Fashion with a feminist cause is something we can really get behind.

The Miley Cyrus x Marily Minter t-shirts for Marc Jacobs, titled “Miley Hearts Planned Parenthood” and “Pro-Choice Miley.”

Minter shot Cyrus back in March for a portrait shoot to benefit PP; one of the images will also be sold with proceeds going to the organization, in a limited edition print for $5,500. The photos are beautiful, shot in Minter’s signature steamy style—both literally and figuratively. Cyrus is shown through a pane of glass, hot water rising all around her. One t-shirt, “Miley Hearts Planned Parenthood,” features the singer showing off her ubiquitous tongue; the other, “Pro-Choice Miley,” shows Cyrus using her mouth to replace the “o” in choice.

In an interview with ArtNet, Minter said that the t-shirt project came about accidentally, and that she doesn’t “know how to do fashion at all.” But apparently this isn’t the end of the collaboration between her and Cyrus; they’re set to drop something this July, aptly timed in accordance with the Supreme Court’s decision on restrictions involving abortion clinics in Texas. We’re excited to see what they come up with next.

“Planned Parenthood of New York City is so grateful to have the support and partnership with fearless creative individuals, such as Marc, Miley and Marilyn,” Joan Malin, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood NYC, said in a statement. “We are excited to raise awareness, enthusiasm and funding for the essential sexual health care services and education we provide and for individuals to have the opportunity to wear the support on their sleeves, literally.”
