Mariska Hargitay: Baja East Is Essential New York
Moments before Baja East slayed the runway with their newest collection, we completely freaked out. OG Law and Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay was in the building. We have never been so starstruck in our lives. Mariska’s been solving crime since 1999 as Sergeant Olivia Benson, and she does even more good offscreen with her foundation, Joyful Heart, which provides support to women who have been sexually abused. We, like the rest of America, have loved for years, so when we saw her in the crowd, we had to sit down and talk the show, androgyny, and creative expression.
First of all, we are huge fans of SVU. What drew you to Baja East?
This is my one treat, going to a show or two during this time of the year, because I’m really busy. I loved Baja East. I thought they were super cool and urban. They are very essential New York.
They are very androgynous. Is that a big draw for you?
I just like to see how people create in different ways and how they express themselves. I like femininity, androgyny, and just love seeing creativity. It’s really fun. I love this.
Who are you wearing right now?
Look at you representing!
If I’m gonna go, I want to represent.
Is there anyone else you’re excited to see this season?
This might be my only fashion show this season. I had to go by when I was available, and this was the one!
Fern Mallis and Mariska Hargitay shot exclusively for Milk by Andrew Boyle.
