Nike x International Girl Crew Are Teaming up For The Dopest Cortez Yet
Adidas already did it, and now Nike is following suit. Read: the limited edition NIKEiD Cortez Classics are on their way, and they’ve partnered with the equally dope International Girl Crew to produce the line. Designed with the crew’s passion for culture and travel in mind, color palettes will include, according to Nike, a “neutral ‘Los Angeles’ style, a bright ‘London’ style and a clean ‘New York’ style.” The founding member of the IGC, Sharmadean Reid, says “the London palette is inspired by the iconic colorway of the Overground, the most air-conditioned line in London,” but we all know which city wins out, and that’s NYC. Facts.
Reid has every reason to be excited about the project, and the vibrant shoe has already made waves on her Instagram feed. She gave a shoutout to nail artist and fellow IGC member Madeline Poole for designing the graphics in the inner sole and the “ultra special bag” that will come with purchase. Reid also announced that IGC is opening up a pop-up shop from August 16 to the 20 in—you guessed it—New York City; peep the full details below.
“IGC is about fashion, style and having fun times with my mates all around the world, from Greece to Jamaica, Paris and of course, our three home cities of London, New York and Los Angeles,” Reid said.
ICYMI, The International Girl Crew is a collective of creative women from all across the globe who are all about fashion, community, and cultivating creativity, wherever they may be. The crew consists of nail artist/founder Sharmadean Reid, model Paloma Elsesser, stylist Camille Garmendia, filmmaker Grace Ladoja, WW Club founder Phoebe Lovatt, and nail artist Madeline Poole.
