Peep The Best of the Best from NY Comic Con 2016

It’s never been a better time to be a geek. The industry that revolves around all things nerds is now just about the biggest business there is, bestowing us with movies, comics, games, toys, and even art—making it, oddly enough, cool to be a nerd. New York Comic Con, the world’s second largest con after San Diego, saw countless costumed cosplayers, shoppers, and pop culture enthusiasts migrate to Manhattan’s far west side across four days of geek bliss.

Exclusive Panels and screenings occupied the daily schedule; the entire cast of The Walking Dead teased us about season seven, stars of Stranger Things talked season two, Andy Serkis spoke about his groundbreaking work in the current Planet of the Apes series, we saw an exclusive first look at Marvel and Netflix’s upcoming Iron Fist and The Defenders, the first footage from the new Power Rangers movie and cult favorite Justice League Dark. Night-vision-goggle-wearing security roamed screening halls, stopping spoiler addicts from leaking footage via cell phones, with offenders ejected quickly and unapologetically.

And of course, there was cosplay a-plenty. Truly imaginative creations rivaled the very movies, TV series, or comic books they drew influence from. While Harley Quinn and Deadpool were again among the most popular, Eleven from Stranger Things came in at a close second if the numerous nose bleeds were any indication. Costume gender-bending mash-ups and parodies proved increasingly popular too, with some highly innovative spins. All in all, a perfect opportunity to get some inspiration for Halloween.
