Premiere: "DO Ya" is NVDES's Trippy Summer Jam
If you haven’t heard of the LA-based creative collective NVDES, you’ve been missing out. If you know ’em and love ’em, then you’ll be elated to hear that today is the day: “Do Ya?” is here. A bonus track off of their upcoming La NVDITÉ, Vol. 1 EP, set to drop August 11, “Do Ya?” also happens to be sharing its release date with another new track from the group: “Do You Think About Me” (peep the lyric video for that track here).
Describing their sound as “laptop punk,” the music collective’s unique sound fuses frontman Josh Ocean’s signature punk energy with some dreamy, electro-pop vibes. And “Do Ya?”? Yet another example of their genre-fusion mastery (and, apparently, Ocean’s penchant for unconventional internet dating).
“This song is about the modern saga of exploring love on the internet,” Ocean says. “We wrote this song shortly after I started a long distance relationship with someone in Paris via Facebook messenger. This song is about the constant wondering ‘is this real?’ and the melancholy that comes along with that.”
