Premiere: Listen to "Nothing" by Androu
Androu is no stranger to his inner critic, and his new track, “Nothing”, is proof that good can come from the pain. He’s emerged from the darkness, gained an awareness he didn’t have prior, and is now ready to share his findings.
“I was in this place where I felt guilty for everything, almost guilty for existing,” he says. “Guilty for dreaming, guilty for trying, guilty for wanting. The pursuit of anything external; drinking, smoking, love, felt like a failure. It was almost like, ‘Why isn’t just being here enough? Why do I feel this need to pursue more than what I already am right now?’ That view, although at the time felt important, is something I think set me up for failure. I think that that pursuit, that pursuit I felt guilty for, is the whole point of being here. As long as you’re alive, you’re going to need to eat more and sleep more. I look at aspiration as an extension of that, a reason for being. Wanting is human.”
Put simply, he’s no longer limiting his own version of the human experience, and as a result, we get some new damn good music to listen to. Take a listen for yourself below.
