Premiere: Saint Mesa's Surreal "Jungle" Vid
Twenty-one-year-old Danny McCook, otherwise known as Saint Mesa, is making big moves this year with the spiritual debut of his EP “Jungle,” out now on Interscope. The self-taught So-Cal musical artist has established some noteworthy accomplishments thus far, licensing syncs with brands like Wayfair, Puma, H&M, and Electronic Arts, while the EP of name has garnered over 1+ million streams on Spotify and landed top 10 on Spotify‘s Viral Chart as well as top 10 on Hype Machine‘s Popular Chart.
However, McCook’s story did not start off so seamlessly. Now healthy, the talent struggled with a rare disease at a young age, noting the isolation as a contributing impetus to the track’s somberly fueled lyrics. On Milk.xyz, we’ve got the first look at the music video for “Jungle,” directed by McCook’s 18-year-old brother, Isaac; the surreal, indie vibes encapsulated throughout the video make for a wild visual trip. There’s an overall sense of personal triumph in the video’s storyline, which further defines the songs’ dream pop atmosphere, and the beautifully moody edits tied with uplifting melodies and choir-like vocals blur the lines between dream and reality in this visual masterpiece.
