Premiere: Superfeel Wants You to Enjoy The Moment With "I Like"
We’ve all been there: a summer fling turns into something more, and all of a sudden, it’s the most complicated thing on your calendar. Luckily, Superfeel is here with some relief—and an enjoy-the-moment type message—with “I Like”.
From Superfeel duo Androu Boudreau and Jordan Bradley (who are coders by day, and musical magicians by night), the upbeat, pop-infused track is kind of like the cherry on top of our summer—just chill enough to get us through the August heat, and just experimental enough that it keeps us on our toes, “I Like” check all the boxes of a perfect summer jam.
“The majority of the inspiration came from the fact that it was a cold gray January and we were listening to a lot of early 2000’s R&B stuff at the time to pretend it was not actually winter in Brooklyn,” Boudreau says. “There’s such an earnestness in the instrumentals of that era, unapologetic pianos and cheery synths. I love the darker sound of today, but it was a fun experiment as a producer and songwriter to try and make something sunnier than we usually do.”
Bradley speaks to the inspiration behind the track, which finds its focus in the complications—and, alternatively, simplicities—of being in love.
“Love can be really complicated, but it’s simple if you can just admit that for now, you like it.”
Apparently Superfeel wants you to just fucking enjoy the moment, man. We can’t disagree. Peep the new track below.
