Premiere: Watch St. Lucia's "A Brighter Love" Music Video
In case you missed it—St. Lucia is the indie-pop band, headed up by Jean-Philip Grobler and his wife Patricia Beranek, that you need to put on your radar. The band is gearing up for the release of their third album, Hyperion, an 11-track record that serves as a follow up to their last release in 2016. With songs largely inspired by a major period of change in their personal life, from the experience of having a child to feelings of loneliness and solitude, the Brooklyn-based band is coming at you with one of their most honest and vulnerable releases to date.
Today, we’re teaming up with St. Lucia to premiere the music video for “A Brighter Love”, one of the singles off their upcoming album. With a dreamy, indie-pop sound, the singers/songwriters help listeners bridge the abstract messages of the song with gorgeous visuals to match. Shot on 16mm film, the video is major throwback to sweeter, simpler times.
“We couldn’t be happier with the video Kevin Clark made for ‘A Brighter Love’,” Grobler says. “It has a deep melancholy running beneath the surface, and it perfectly captures the search for real connections in the age of virtual ones, which in many ways is what the song is about.”
Be sure to check out the video here, and mark your calendars for the full album release of Hyperion, coming on September 21. Alongside the album, the band will also be embarking on a 32-date tour throughout the U.S. which kicks off on the same day. Take a look at the dates here, and you might just find St. Lucia coming to a city near you.
