The perfect closeout summer song from LA-based duo Cult Exciter.

Premiere: Watch The New "Plans" Vid From Cult Exciter

Cult Exciter’s “Plans” video incapsulates what a summer should feel likego with the flow, no intention of any plans, but just a focus on pure change and witnessing that change as the time goes by. With that said, the duo says that the video project was a collaboration with James Sanchez, and the whole thing was shot this summer, with Sanchez as the man behind the cam. Fittingly, we’re here to say that this track may just be this season’s soundtrack.

Cult Exciter is the LA-based collaborative project by multi-instrumentalist 5iles and vocalist Z. The duo started producing music together in 2013 and, being both from Santo Domingo, DR, they pull inspiration from their Caribbean roots while also looking back on their time in New York. Visually, they continued with the same chop and screw type method, using old footage they had paired with a VHS camera to capture the golden hour of LA’s most beautiful coastal areas.

Their self-titled debut EP was released back in June and combines chill electronica and alternative neo-soul—mixing Afro-Caribbean rhythms with experimental beats and soft vocal arrangements. Get acquainted with the duo via their EP, then watch the video for “Plans” above, premiering exclusively on MILK.XYZ.
