A sneak peek at Zhu's NIGHTDAY pop-up, presented by MADE. Hit up 219A Mulberry Street before 9 PM tonight to check it out--and maybe get some concert tickets.

Run To Made + EDM Artist Zhu's SoHo Pop-Up Shop

“Day and night” is a phrase whispered by lonely stoners as they listen to Kid Cudi and walk to 7/11. But (put my thing down, flip it and) reverse it, and kick the “and” to the curb, and you’ll have the pop-up shop you wish you’d skipped work for. Presented by MADE, EDM artist Zhu’s Nightday Collection Pop-Up is taking over a swath of Soho until 9 PM. Today is the last day/night of the pop-up, and in addition to the goodies, exclusive limited tickets are available for Zhu’s sold-out shows at Terminal 5, taking place tonight, May 11th, and tomorrow, May 12th.

The Chinese-American singer, who slipped into the Los Angeles music scene with his 2014 debut EP The Nightday, has, in addition to his previous Nightday collection, unveiled a limited edition line called Genesis, as part of a new collaboration with the people who bring MADE Fashion Week to life twice a year. With an aesthetic inspired by the harmonious relationship between music and fashion, the line is a departure from Zhu’s last monochromatic, unisex collection, introducing female-specific pieces that were inspired by the collaborators and artists featured on Zhu’s album. Rather than adhering to the normal fashion seasons, Zhu’s collections adhere to a more musically inspired schedule; every series is like a new album wrapped in fabric, ready to wear.

The pop-up shop is one of many projects MADE is working on, including the massive MADE LA event. They’re also headed to Europe this summer: Berlin, to be precise. MADE Berlin will be on hand to cover Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin from June 28th until July 1st—and the project is quite fitting. As Catherine Bennett, senior vice president and managing director of IMG Fashion Events & Properties explained to WWD, “As we look to evolve our offering in Berlin, we’re excited to introduce MADE to the region and further support Berlin’s emerging creatives.” Berlin, she added, “is a vibrant creative city at the intersection of fashion, art, and music — three disciplines that MADE weaves together seamlessly in its events.”
