Runway Rundown: Brock Collection Reclaims Cozy [NYFW]
Make no mistake: after getting awarded top honors last fall, Brock Collection is riding the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund wave of success, and their Fall RTW ’17 collection is unabashed in its elegance. That’s not to say that the clothes didn’t also get a heavy dose of practicality; on the contrary, cozy took center stage, and it’s the husband-wife duo’s mastery of a seemingly contrary pairing (romantic elegance meets comfy-cozy) that takes this collection from standard to standout.
Paper-thin ruched taffeta gowns and cocktail dresses stole the show, while buttery cashmere and luxe fur rounded out the presentation. Simply put, this season meant no frills romance with a heavy dose of good old-fashioned gumption. Now that’s one sartorial marriage we can certainly get behind.
