Because it’s their show, and not yours.

'RuPaul’s Drag Race' Stars Trixie Mattel And Katya Land Their Own TV Show

Emmy-award winning RuPaul’s Drag Race has given the world countless laughs, slang terms, and queens to gawk over. And now, two of the show’s biggest stars are giving us what we really wanttheir very own TV show. Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova, both from Season 7, have truly created and harbored a fanbase of their own, separate from the show that first made them famous. Their unique brand of offbeat comedy is cultivated in their weekly web series “UNHhhh, which is uploaded to the WOWPresents YouTube page every Monday. Every week, the show focuses on one specific topic, but it’s the tangents, hilarious antics, and insight into who these characters really are that makes viewers come back for more.

Every episode of “UNHhhh” begins in the same way: Trixie and Katya introduce themselves in the only way these two offbeat queens could—by coming up with hilarious (and untrue) namesakes. Some of our personal favorites include, “Hi I’m the chemical burn from the spiral perm, Trixie Mattel,” and “I’m Betsey Johnson starring in the straight-to-video, soon-to-be classic ‘Gothbusters’, Katya.” Trixie and Katya then launch into the show’s tagline: “Welcome to UNHhhh, where we talk about whatever we want, because it’s our show and not yours.” Simple enough, right? Quite miraculously, these queens have been able to take a format which would fall flat in pretty much any other instance and turn it into comedy gold. With the help of their incredibly talented editors, Chris and Ron, Trixie and Katya are able to sit in front of a green screen and talk about—you guessed it—whatever they want, and viewers are always desperate for more. The web show racks up almost 1 million views per episode and has created a plethora of references that fans adore. Now, the queens are moving from our computer screens to the big time.

On November 1, Viceland will premiere The Trixie & Katya Show, dubbed a “hilarious hybrid of late-night, daytime, and advice shows.” Judging from the topics discussed in their web series, the show will likely cover anything from the female orgasm, to porn, to parenting, to the 90s. No complaints here.

Just like “UNHhhh”, The Trixie & Katya Show will be produced by World of Wonder, so no need to fear about the show being butchered by people who don’t know the true essence of these incomparable queens. What’s more, the series will be executive produced by Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, Nelson Walters and—the one and only—RuPaul. Oh, honey.
