Sharing a Joint With Michael K. Williams [NYFW]
There are two things that give me pure, unadulterated life: Michael K. Williams as Omar Little on The Wire and Michael K. Williams as Himself on Viceland’s Black Market. In other words, Michael K. Williams in general. So when he came to our house for round two of MADE New York’s SS17 presentations, I pulled a hot minute out of my back pocket and he, from his, a freshly rolled joint.
What’s your favorite part about this fashion week?
The time of year that it comes.
You look so fly. Tell me about all of these cool pieces you’re wearing right now.
I’m a 50-year-old man, I dress myself, you know. This blazer is John Varvatos, the shirt is Dries [Van Noten], shorts are Rick Owens, socks are Kangol, boots are Fear of God, and this bandana is Levi’s. Oh, and this bag is Bottega.
What’s on your agenda for this evening?
I’m checking out the Newbark presentation for the CFDA Awards.
We know you don’t drink, so what’s your favorite mocktail of the moment?
Well this is basically a mojito mocktail — mint and something sparkling.
If you could eat one meal exclusively for the rest of your life, what would it be?
My momma’s peas and rice. And her fried grouper. And her potato salad. lights joint
