Snapshot: Self-Reflection in Asia With Ryan Williams
Travel alongside our Milk.xyz contributors with Snapshot, our new photo diary series. This week, Ryan Williams starts a new chapter of life post-school by finishing up her degree in Asia.
My adult life starts in a week. Perhaps that’s dramatic. I graduate college in a week.
The decision to spend my last months of school in Asia was not easy. The idea of practically starting new, on the friends, teachers, and, well, every front really, wasn’t that appealing. It simply seemed like a thing I would regret not doing, so I went.
As I galivanted through Krabi, Thailand and Tokyo, Japan, I was aware these were the moments I would look back on and say, “Those were the days.” I ached for the moments to last forever, knowing I would feel nostalgic for them later in life.
So, thank you, Krabi and your little beach bars, friendly locals, and your even kinder elephants. Thank you Tokyo for your familiar bustle on the street, your ability to not take life so seriously, and your thousands of vending machines.
