#TBT: Milk Celebrated Earth Day With The Break
After spending the month of April talking about eco-conscious living and how we can better integrate sustainability into our creative practice, Milk took the conversation offline and over to Brooklyn, where we hosted a day-long event in partnership with The Break. Selling vintage that’s effortless and affordable (hello Broke AF), The Break was the perfect partner to celebrate Earth Day with (because what’s more sustainable than shopping second-hand?). Art Hoe Collective joined the party and curated a selection of local artworks, which were displayed on shelves throughout the store. Guests mingled with refreshments from Novo Fogo and Six Point Brewery in hand and tunes from DJ Beshken.
Around 5 pm, the crowd made it’s way across the street to DJ Asukal at A/D/O, a concept space and, thus, the perfect place to host our live four-person panel. Moderated by journalist Caroline Leland, the panelists were vegan chef Sophia Roe, fine artist Jae Kim, recycled fabric company Queen of Raw, and eco-conscious fashion influencer and stylist Jenny Welbourn. Each panelist dove deep on what it means in their specific industry to integrate sustainability, and how we can all better practice those habits, within our creative spaces and otherwise.
DJ Ant Blu Jr finished up the night with tunes back at The Break, where guests mingled until long after dusk. Missed the party? Not to worry—we made sure to document our Earth Day shenanigans in full effect. Just check the gallery above for a full visual recap.
Stay tuned to Milk for more sustainable ragers.
