The Elusive Frank Ocean Stars in Calvin Klein's Latest Campaign
All eyes are on Frank Ocean, who is one of the many stars featured in the latest Calvin Klein campaign, shot by Tyrone Lebon. After staying hidden from the public eye for several years, last month, Ocean released a touching letter regarding the Orlando tragedy, along with internalizing homophobia and anecdotes about the painful struggles he endured as a gay man of color. Ocean writes beautiful, affecting words—and we’re also always happy to stare at him.
Calvin Klein stirred up controversy with their last campaign and, now, they’re sparking conversations about their latest one, due to the campaign’s wide and diverse cast of models, spanning generations and careers. Dressed in Calvin Klein Collection, Calvin Klein Platinum, Calvin Klein Jeans, Calvin Klein Underwear, and Calvin Klein, the one thing they all have in common is that they are “making history on the stage, screen, runway, and field.”
Featuring Calvin Klein poster girl Kate Moss and up-and-coming supermodel Bella Hadid is a no-brainer. But CK also features the first girl to pitch (and shutout) a Little League World Series game, baseball star Mo’ne Davis. Captain of the Colombian national soccer team and Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez. Rapper and best friend-loving Young Thug. Magician and endurance artist David Blaine. Former model and legendary Vogue creative director Grace Coddington. The lineup continues with Keith Ape, Cameron Dallas, Margot Robie, Presley Gerber, Anna Ewers, and Henry Rollins, among others.
Calvin Klein will release the entirety of its cast in suspenseful segments. The first consists of Kate Moss, Bella Hadid, James Rodriguez, and Henry Rollins. Not only is the campaign releasing pictures, there are also Spotify playlists, videos, and intimate interviews about first kisses, gender roles, sexy card tricks, in true Calvin Klein style.
