Spike Jonze x Opening Ceremony FW15 Is Everything
As far as notable fashion collaborations go, Spike Jonze and Opening Ceremony have had one of the most fruitful and novel partnerships around. As interesting as their campaign videos—and one-act plays—have been, nothing seemed to exemplify the spirit of their relationship more than OC’s FW15 collection, a line constructed entirely around the enormous archive of Jonze’s 35mm photography.
More than just inspired by Jonze’s oeuvre of work, the collection features his behind-the-scenes shots printed right onto classic OC T-shirts, sweaters, and trousers. And given Jonze’s presence on nearly every 90’s music video set, this means that intimate portraits of Björk, the Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, The Chemical Brothers, and even Nirvana appear on each piece of clothing.
The current trends of 90’s nostalgia have nothing on OC FW15, a collection that literally weaves some of the moments that defined the 90’s onto the clothes themselves. It would be the understatement of the century to say we’re obsessed.
Stay tuned for our exclusive feature that puts Spike Jonze in conversation with OC founder Humberto Leon.
