There's Now A Birchbox For Weed: Nancy Delivers The Goods

Normally when we order weed delivery, it shows up about two hours late via a dude on a skateboard with white person dreadlocks. But no longer! Meet Nancy, a subscription service that’s billing itself as “the Birchbox of Cannabis.” It seems like a solid replacement for our wayward drug dealers.

Nancy, which is currently seeking funding on Indiegogo, isn’t really designed to get you high (unfortunately). Founder Samantha Strom derives her products from cannibidiol, aka CBD, which is the compound in weed that can help with pain and anxiety. It is possible to get products with THC – the fun stuff — but you need to have a medical marijuana card.

Dale Denton (Seth Rogen, right) and Saul Silver (James Franco, left) are two lazy stoners running for their lives in Columbia Pictures' action-comedy Pineapple Express. The film is directed by David Gordon Green. The screenplay is by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg from a story by Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg. Judd Apatow and Shauna Robertson produce.
These guys would be so happy.

The service, which hopes to start shipping boxes by the end of the year, will cost $50 for a welcome box, and then $75 per month for a subscription. A sample is also available for $25 through Indiegogo. Nancy’s products include edibles, salves, and tinctures, and the products with only CBD are legal in all 50 states.

The FDA still hasn’t confirmed CBD as an effective treatment for chronic pain, but based on years and years of anecdotal evidence (and personal experience), the compound certainly seems to work. It’s perfect for people that need to stay sharp and still want to experience the healing properties of medical marijuana. This business idea rules; we are totally here for Nancy.
