Not covfefe this time.

Trump's New Director of Communications is Being Roasted on Twitter

Brought to you by Internet scavengers and America’s 45th Administration comes the next best Twitter frenzy to follow ‘covfefe.’ Anthony Scaramucci, if you didn’t know, is the newly appointed Director of Communications for the White House, under the current abomination that is our President, Donald Trump.

Scaramucci is also, as of recent, an unfortunate victim to Twitter users that have dug up embarrassing incidents of his tweeting past only hours after his appointment that succeeded the resignation of Sean Spicer. Acknowledging the potential chaos that would ensue post-designation, Scaramucci announced that he’d be deleting old tweets, as his “past views” had “evolved.”

With that said, it seems that the communications director’s perspective on inspirational quotes and inaccurate attributions have remained the same since this 2012 tweet, as he decided to keep it up post-Twitter purge. We ain’t mad. “Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you’ve never been hurt and live like its heaven on earth. MarkTwain,” it reads. Though it seems he forgot one line: Tweet like no one is fact checking.

While the message proves beautiful… uplifting… inspiring even, it also proves a bit corny and completely inaccurate. Exposed for attributing a quote that belongs on the cover of a 12 year old’s dream journal to the prolific American author of the 19th century, Mark Twain, Twitter users have decided to mock the embarrassing incident by hilariously and erroneously ascribing song lyrics to random figures in history—á la Scaramucci. We picked out a few of our favorites below.
