Weekend Recap: Jay-Z Owned The Meadows Fest 2K17
This weekend, a slew of favorites landed in NYC for The Meadows Fest 2K17: Future, Big Boi, Erykah Badu, Blood Orange, Gorillaz, and Jay-Z included. One living legend handily stole the show, and that was Brooklyn’s own Jay Z: after a Friday night performance so lit the whole place felt like it could have caught on fire, it was all but impossible for any other artist to eclipse the show. Erykah Badu was a near spiritual experience, and Future was fun AF (unsurprisingly), but all in all, Jay-Z was it. If you missed him, you missed the point of Meadows.
Aside from the music, the eats for year two were on point. Shake Shack and Roberta’s held it down alongside some delish waffle fries, milkshakes, fried chicken, dumplings…the list goes on. Festival goers were spoiled for choice and free water was the sensible cherry on top.
For a music festival hosted in a parking lot, The Meadows brought the party for year two. If you missed the fun, don’t fret—we documented the entire weekend in all its stylish glory. Check the gallery above for a full festival style recap.
