Weekend Recap: NYC Climate Strike
Last Friday, an estimated 250,000 people gathered at Foley Square in New York to march towards Battery Park and strike in support of climate action. Joined by Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, generation now, the Earth Guardians, Willow and Jaden Smith, and Greta Thunberg, the people of New York stood up for our future. One of the speakers mentioned that together, there were an estimated three million people, across more than 150 countries, that had observed this strike.
Today, the first day of Climate Week is marked by the United Nations Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit in New York. Youth leaders from all over the world are gathering to provide solutions and demand action from the world’s political leaders. This week Milk will be covering artists and activists that have been monumental in educating the masses about what steps we can take to reverse the effects of climate change.
