#YEEZYSEASON2: Every Season Is Ye Season
#YEEZYSEASON2 has landed. Kanye West’s surprise show, which wasn’t officially announced till Friday, delivered on its promise of being a huge media sensation. The event was so star-studded that VIPs like Kendall Jenner, Pusha T, and Miguel were relegated to the second row. Celebs in the front included the Kardashian Klan – minus Kylie, who walked in the show with BFF Bella Hadid – Anna Wintour, Common, leather daddy architect Peter Marino, and weirdly enough, Seth Meyers. Kim and North were rightly front and center, with North munching on candy, presumably to prevent last year’s tears.
Aside from the baby’s happy face, and the debut of a brand-new Kanye song, the presentation and style of the collection continued the themes of Yeezy Season One. West collaborated again with Vanessa Beecroft on the structure of the show. Models were arranged in rows based on the color of the clothing – and possibly skin tone –, and were commanded to march forward line by line. The garments were very Yeezus, with an all-neutral palette; the only touches of color came in a deep forest green. It was very apocalypse-chic, a perfect example of the cozy-dystopian look. Our favorite outfits involved the thick, cozy looking bomber jackets, and we want to buy a nude, ribbed pencil skirt immediately. We think Yeezy Season Two was definitely a success – but then again, in 2015, isn’t every season Yeezy season?
