90s Supermodels, Zoe Kravitz + More SS16 Campaign Highlights
As winter winds slap us around and force us to wear layers and layers of thermal clothing, sun-drenched SS16 campaigns have us wanting to teleport ourselves somewhere warm. So far, we’ve seen Louis Vuitton‘s progressive women’s campaign featuring Jaden Smith, and have learned that all the cool Gucci kids skateboard with peacocks. But there’s more awesomeness snowballing towards us faster than we can duck into heated spaces. Check out a few of our favorite new campaigns.
Although Alexander Wang left his role as Creative Director last summer, the new SS16 campaign clearly shows his mark on the brand. Featuring long-time muse Anna Ewers and the multi-talented Zoë Kravitz, the images show the girls lounging around a mansion. The legendary Steven Klein captures them wearing all-white ensembles, while oozing dreaminess and sex appeal.
Marc Jacobs stole our hearts by he featuring his friend, and transgender co-director of The Matrix triology, Lana Wachowski, in his new David Sims-shot campaign. Jacobs took to his Instagram account to reveal the first preview, saying how the people featured in his campaign embody and celebrate the spirit of beauty and equality. In a time where trans rights and representation is exploding over the media, this step forward in the fashion world is huge, and we couldn’t be more on board. Just look at her! This image is the definition of confidence and happiness.
Miuccia Prada has done it again with her new campaign, featuring four up-and-coming artists, adding another chapter to her creative relationship with photographer Steven Meisel. The new talent include artist India Salvor Menuez, Grandma’s Julia Garner, zombie-slaying Millie Brady, and Rings’ Matilda Lutz, all staring doe-eyed into the camera. We’re excited to see them explode into household names this year.
The original super models make a fierce comeback in Balmain’s newest campaign, and we couldn’t be more stoked. We’re more excited than puppies to see Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and Claudia Schiffer star together in this new campaign, alongside designer Olivier Rousteing. Steven Klein captures their respective essences in these photos. Strong and sexy mamas is what’s hot.
Bionda Castana’s new campaign is a surreal dream come true. The color palette and optical illusions transport us to a shoe wonderland, as the photographs show a Royal Ballet dancer contorting her body in fashionably exaggerated positions. Shot by Dima Hollow, the deliberately faceless photos are mesmerizing, while focusing attention on the shoes.
