A delectable Friday mixtape from Berlin-based DJ and producer Sofia Kourtesis.

Sofia Kourtesis grew up listening to some of the most unique voices in history (think Bowie and Björk, for starters) and their penchant for the strange did not go unnoticed as this artist developed her own sound; if anything, they influenced her much more than any modern musicians could.

Flash forward to 2016 and she’s at once a DJ, producer, and vocalist, making moves on her own terms, in her hometown of Berlin and beyond. Her latest venture? The Me Succeeds album Into Randomness, remix edition, out today via Ki Records.

If it wasn’t obvious, she’s a master multitasker; luckily, we were able to snag her for a curated Friday playlist, just in time for the weekend, and the results do not disappoint. Upon reflection, Sofia says “2016 was a year of transaction, changes and challenges. I really saw a lot of friends being lost about what is wrong and right. I think 2017 should be a year for heroes and everyone should go outside to fight for what is right.” We couldn’t agree more.
